How the Ice Fishing wheel works
The show runs on a virtual 53-segment money wheel with a live host [1]. Before the spin you place bets on any of these spots:
- Leaf 1 and Leaf 2 — instant payouts if the wheel stops on that leaf;
- Lil' Blues, Big Oranges, Huge Reds — each one enters a fishing bonus if its segment comes up;
- All Bonuses — covers every bonus segment in one bet.
Before the wheel spins, the game may boost it. One Leaf segment can get a 3×, 4×, 5×, 7× or 10× multiplier. Or every segment of one bonus type can get 2× up to 10×, and that multiplier carries onto the fish when the bonus is played [1].
The three fishing bonuses
When a fish segment comes up, the host slowly reels in a catch. The multiplier on the fish shows once it is out of the water [1].

Everyone can watch a bonus, but only players with a bet on that bonus spot are paid by it. Put a pre-spin 10× on the Huge Reds, land them and reel in a 500× fish, and you reach the game's cap: 5,000× the bet [2].
RTP and what isn't published
Evolution leaves the RTP out of its Ice Fishing page. OLG, which runs the game in Ontario, lists 95.1% to 97.1% [3]. A range like this usually means the return depends on which spot you bet on.
Two things you may see elsewhere are not published by Evolution: the payout of each Leaf bet and how many segments of each colour the wheel has. Sites that quote them don't agree with each other, so we don't repeat any of them.

Evolution built Ice Fishing as a faster game show; its chief product officer called it "our take" on a speed game show [2]. Its two older wheel-and-ball cousins, for comparison:

Crazy Time is the slower, bigger show: a money wheel, a Top Slot that adds multipliers, and four bonus games. Evolution puts its RTP at 94.41% to 96.08% and the Crazy Time bonus at up to 20,000× [5]. Lightning Roulette is single-zero roulette where one to five numbers are struck by lightning each round and pay 50× to 500× on a straight-up bet [8]; OLG lists 97.1% to 97.3% [7].
